CM Punk recently paid heartfelt tribute to Liv Morgan following the devastating injury she suffered on WWE RAW last week — one that is expected to keep her sidelined for several months. The injury has sparked an outpouring of support from fans and wrestlers alike, and Punk added his voice to the chorus during his appearance at Fanatics Fest.
Morgan suffered a shoulder injury during her match with Kairi Sane. It has been reported that Morgan will be out of action for at least 3 months. What is sadder is that she was to play a major role in the upcoming Evolution PLE. However, WWE had to scrap the plans and make changes.
Speaking on a live episode of Cold As Balls with comedian Kevin Hart, Punk had high praise for Morgan, calling her his “MVP of 2025.” Reflecting on her growth in WWE, Punk said:
“Shoutout to Liv Morgan who recently got injured — she was like my MVP for the year. I look at people like Liv who probably started right after I left, around 2014, and just from the time I’ve been around her, watching her work, the way she’s developed and broken out of her shell… she’s turned into this little worker, and it warms my heart.”
He acknowledged the disappointment of her injury but noted that setbacks like these are part of the wrestling business.
There’s no denying that Liv Morgan has had a breakout year, and fans will be hoping she can return with the same momentum that made her one of WWE’s top stars.
During the same interview, CM Punk was asked about WWE Superstars he’d still like to face. Since returning to the company, he’s tangled with names like Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, and Roman Reigns — and he’s set to rekindle his storied rivalry with John Cena this weekend.
Still, Punk has a few more dream matches in mind. The three names he mentioned? AJ Styles, Randy Orton, and Chad Gable. All three are veterans of the ring and are sure to produce stellar matches if paired with The Best In The World.
All three would offer compelling clashes of style and storytelling — and fans would no doubt love to see “The Best in the World” test himself against each of them before he eventually calls it a career.
