Heartbreaking Report On Asuka’s WWE Future

adminLatest UpdatesWWE News6 days ago63 Views

A heartbreaking update has emerged regarding Asuka’s WWE future. The former Women’s Champion was expected to make her WWE return around May, as per a previous report by Cory Hays. However, that might not be the case.

In a WWE landscape constantly shifting beneath our feet, one name remains conspicuously—and painfully—missing: Asuka. The former champion, icon of chaos, and artist of strong style hasn’t laced up her boots since Backlash 2024 in Lyon, France. And now, the latest update casts a grim shadow on her immediate future.

According to Fightful Select, the reason for her continued absence remains unchanged: injury. The same injury that WWE reportedly feared would sideline her for the entirety of 2024—including WrestleMania 41. At the time, it wasn’t just a setback—it was a season-ending blow. And months later, the outlook still hasn’t brightened.

While creative reportedly did make pitches for Asuka in recent months, sources say her return was never in serious contention for The Show of Shows in Las Vegas last month. A comeback may be in the cards—but not yet, and certainly not soon.

Asuka last competed alongside her tag partner Kairi Sane, when the Kabuki Warriors dropped the Women’s Tag Team Championships to the powerhouse duo of Bianca Belair and Jade Cargill. That loss didn’t just cost them gold—it marked the beginning of a dark chapter.

Only weeks later, Kairi was written off TV following a brutal backstage ambush at the hands of the Pure Fusion Collective—a group that’s been leaving bodies in their wake since late 2024.

What could be next for Asuka’s WWE future?

But just as storms pass, warriors return. Last week on RAW, The Pirate Princess resurfaced, stepping back into the ring for a high-stakes Money in the Bank qualifier against Rhea Ripley and Zoey Stark. The match ended with heartbreak for Stark, who suffered a knee injury mid-bout, while Ripley secured her spot in the Women’s Money in the Bank ladder match set for June 7.

However, what was interesting is that no mention of the faction ‘Damage CTRL’ was made when Kairi returned. The group also included Dakota Kai, Iyo Sky and Asuka. With Kai being released, it is clear that the group has been dissolved, which leaves room open for Asuka to go after Sky or Sane when she returns.

The division is heating up. Stories are unfolding. Titles are shifting hands. Unfortunately, however, Asuka—the one who could reshape it all with a single return—is still watching from the shadows.

For now, the Empress waits. And so do we.
