Jamie Hayter’s return led to her being fiercely body-shamed; She finally hits back with a befetting reply

Jamie Hayter’s return to AEW has been met with mixed reactions from fans and critics. While some have praised her new look, others have not liked it. Hayter’s climb back to the AEW summit hasn’t been smooth — it’s been a knife fight uphill.

Since returning from a year-long injury layoff, the former AEW Women’s World Champion has been battered by more than just opponents. Fan whispers, social media jabs, and constant run-ins with The CEO Mercedes Moné have all lined her path to Double or Nothing with fire.

But Hayter isn’t flinching. She’s fighting. And if she gets through Moné in the Owen Hart Cup Final this Sunday, she’ll be staring down the same gold she once proudly wore around her waist.

While some are busy critiquing her new look, Jamie’s making peace with the power behind it.

In a candid conversation with Cameron Hawkins for Uncrowned via Yahoo! Sports, Hayter spoke about being shamed for her new look and bulkier body following her return:

“I like to have a bit of meat on my bones, to be honest,” she said. “I like to be a bit more stockier. I don’t really care about having abs so much. I just like to be a bit big. As big as I physically can.”

Jamie Hayter is not just brushing off the critics — she’s steamrolling them. And she’s not trying to sculpt a magazine cover physique. She’s building a tank — forged in muscle, purpose, and pain.

”There’ll be plenty of naysayers that will be like, ‘Well, I actually think this about this body type, or I don’t think they should look like this and that.’ But it’s just like, ‘Well, f*** them.’ That’s what I say. Let your in-ring do the talking.”

Jamie Hayter also stated in the interview that she believes the pressure is weighing heavier on her than on Mercedes Moné. Since her return in August 2024, very little has been accomplished, and this upcoming match is being viewed as her first major moment since coming back. Speculation about her appearance has been heard — claims that she looks different, that something has changed.

Still, once the ring is stepped into, the truth is expected to be revealed. The same aggression is carried within her, the same intensity is brought every time she competes. And now, with more to prove than ever before, that hunger is being fueled at full force.
