Jey Uso Breaks Down After Losing The World Championship on RAW, Sends Emotional Message to Gunther

On a night that was supposed to be his crowning moment, Jey Uso walked into RAW as World Heavyweight Champion… and walked out empty-handed after holding the World Heavyweight Championship for a mere 51 days.

The Main Event was anything but triumphant this week, falling short in a brutal battle against Gunther — a war that ended with Jey being choked out cold by The Ring General. The match took everything out of him, and once he came to, Uso re-entered the ring with his son by his side and poured his heart out on the mic.

“I’m sorry to my son. I’m sorry to everybody here. I fought my a** off.”

It was raw, it was real, and it hit different.

Even in defeat, Jey showed class — giving Gunther his flowers in a moment that had the crowd silenced.

“Gunther is that dude. One of the best athletes. One of the best pros I’ve ever stepped foot in the ring with. At the end of the day, I got hella respect for that man.”

Jey Uso’s run as the World Heavyweight Champion came to an end on RAW

It’s no secret that Jey Uso came into RAW banged up. He ate a nasty hook from Logan Paul on SmackDown and got flattened by an Acai Moonsault at Money in the Bank during his tag team match with Cody Rhodes against Logan Paul and John Cena. The bruises showed. The exhaustion was real. But the fight? Still all heart.

Unfortunately, Gunther smelled blood and capitalised. The Main Event tried his best to defeat his arch-rival Gunther yet again, but was unsuccessful. The Ring General choked out Uso much like Uso had done to him at WrestleMania 41.

Sure, fans are gutted that Jey didn’t retain. But if there’s one thing he’s proven over the last year — it’s that he’s built for the top. And even when the lights dim, you can bet Main Event Jey Uso will rise again.

What could be next for Jey Uso?

Uso might take a brief hiatus to regroup, similar to Cody Rhodes after a title loss, returning near SummerSlam 2025. Another compelling direction involves Uso rejoining SmackDown to align with Jimmy Uso and Jacob Fatu in the escalating Bloodline civil war against Solo Sikoa’s faction.

This reunion could culminate in a Survivor Series: WarGames match, leveraging Uso’s family ties and fan support. Whatever path WWE chooses, Uso’s charisma and “Yeet” movement ensure he remains a top babyface, with opportunities in singles or tag team divisions.
