Kevin Owens Reveals Who We Can Thank For WWE’s Shift In Continuity

Kevin Owens’ WWE interview moments are always worth tuning into — and his latest comments might just echo what millions of fans have been feeling for years.

On a recent episode of Unlikely with Adrian Hernandez, Owens opened up about a cultural shift happening behind the curtain in WWE, Kevin Owens praised Triple H’s approach to storytelling and fan engagement. For a man who has spent years both inside the ring and behind the scenes, Owens didn’t hold back. He praised Triple H:

“There’s definitely been a shift in mindset from the top,” Owens said. “Our fans are smart. They pay attention. They remember.”

Owens recalled how, under previous management, he often clashed with leadership over their underestimation of the audience. He was told fans wouldn’t recall storyline beats from just a few weeks prior — something he never believed.

“I was told, ‘No, they won’t remember.’ But I knew they would,” he added. “It’s insulting their intelligence to assume otherwise.”

That outdated thinking, according to Kevin Owens, is finally being pushed aside. And the credit? It goes straight to Triple H. Under his creative leadership, the company is no longer pretending fans have short-term memory loss.

“He knows fans remember, he applies it, and it makes the product way better in my opinion.”

As someone who grew up watching WWE religiously, Owens gets it on a personal level. He even dropped a deep-cut reference: “When the Sultan showed up, I knew that was Fatu. I was just a kid — but I remembered.”

Kevin Owens vs. Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41: Storytelling With History

Now, Owens is heading into a major bout against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 41, a match that could benefit heavily from this new, continuity-focused era. With WWE embracing deeper storytelling, the Owens vs. Orton showdown promises more than just physicality — it’s a battle steeped in history, and one the fans will remember.

This match will set the stage for one of the biggest clashes in WrestleMania history as the two friends turned foes will make sure to give fans a match they would remember for a long time to come.
