Roman Reigns allegedly ‘gone’ from WWE amidst rumors of massive pay cut

WWE hasn’t felt the same ever since Roman Reigns vanished from television following the chaotic events of WrestleMania 41. And now, his longtime rival — and ‘Shield brother’ — Seth Rollins has delivered a brutal update on the future of the Tribal Chief.

Since aligning himself with Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed, Rollins has been on a ruthless path of domination. At WrestleMania 41, he didn’t just steal the spotlight — he stole Reigns’ Wiseman, and just weeks later on the April 21 episode of RAW, he viciously assaulted his former ally.

Since then, the faction has unleashed hell on the WWE roster. CM Punk and Sami Zayn were the first to feel the full weight of Rollins’ wrath, both being robbed of a spot in the Money in the Bank match. On the final RAW before the premium live event, Rollins, Breakker, and Reed stood tall after ambushing Punk, Zayn, and Jey Uso in a savage post-match beatdown.

But Rollins wasn’t done.

After RAW went off the air, The Visionary grabbed a mic and turned his venom toward the Oklahoma crowd. As they sang along to his entrance theme, Rollins snapped back, mocking their devotion and responding to the deafening “OTC” chants with pure disdain.

He also alleged that Roman Reigns is gone from WWE.

“The champ is done for. Your martyr? Done. Sami Zayn? In the dirt. OTC? Nowhere in sight. You know whose time it is? That chant is a joke — just like all of you. He’s gone. We put him in the dirt, just like these three. It’s my time. It’s our time. Because I am a visionary. I am a revolutionary. I am— You’re too easy, you morons.”

Whether Reigns is truly gone or just lying in wait. However, the recent rumors surrounding WWE and TKO’s plan for Reigns make it a major possibility that we might never see The Tribal Chief again.

Major reasons why Roman Reigns could be done with WWE

Hugo Savinovich of Lucha Libre online noted that On The Last Word podcast with Jonathan Coachman and Tommy Carlucci, it was revealed that TKO executives are reconsidering their approach to Roman Reigns’ contract situation.

In addition to his base pay, he earned extra income from pay-per-view appearances, WWE 2K video game deals, promotional events, and merchandise sales, from which he reportedly received 30% of the proceeds.

He also earned bonuses for international events, including the high-profile Saudi Arabia shows, as well as a cut from ticket sales. Altogether, his annual earnings reached an estimated $15 million.

Roman Reigns is quite possibly the top name in the company today, and if TKO wants him to take a pay cut. It is possible that he would rather leave the company. Especially since his Hollywood career has begun to pick up lately.

While it could be assumed that Rollins’ remarks were merely part of the story, a deeper truth may be lurking, given the circumstances of The Tribal Chief’s current WWE situation.
