Liv Morgan’s injury has sent shockwaves through WWE, throwing a massive wrench into some of the company’s most anticipated plans. A major plan has been scrapped as a result of her unforeseen injury.
The Queen of Extreme has been one of WWE’s most active Superstars in recent months. Juggling multiple storylines—from her rising feud with Nikki Bella to heated run-ins with Women’s Champion IYO SKY, not to mention her eternal war with Rhea Ripley—Liv’s presence on WWE television has been nothing short of central. Add to that her status as one-half of the Women’s Tag Team Champions, and it’s clear that WWE had major plans in place for her.
But on a recent episode of RAW, that momentum came to a screeching halt when Liv suffered a shoulder injury that took her out of action. And according to WrestleVotes via the latest edition of WrestleBinge Q&A, the repercussions have been severe.
WWE had to completely rework the creative layout for the upcoming WWE Evolution premium live event. WrestleVotes noted:
“I was told this morning that, that injury has now caused a lot of the Evolution card to basically be scrapped, be ripped up and started from scratch because she was pegged for a big-time tag team match that isn’t gonna happen now. So, that spot is gonna be filled by somebody else and it’s gonna have a lot of ripple effects, so, that’s unfortunate.”
While WrestleVotes didn’t outright confirm it, he implied Liv and Raquel Rodriguez were set to face none other than the returning Bella Twins in what would’ve been a marquee tag team bout at the event.
Morgan’s injury, rumored to sideline her for as long as 16 weeks, leaves WWE no choice but to reshuffle multiple storylines that revolved around her. Given the extent of her involvement across several rivalries, it’s understandable why WWE is essentially rebuilding Evolution from the ground up.
All is not lost, though. WWE may already have a replacement lined up. WrestleVotes teased that Roxanne Perez could step into Liv’s spot in the rumored Bella Twins tag match. Perez has been inching her way into the main roster spotlight and, in storyline, is desperate to prove herself to The Judgment Day. A high-profile PLE appearance could be her breakout moment.
Whether or not the creative team can salvage the rest of the card remains to be seen. But one thing’s for certain—Liv Morgan’s absence has become one of the biggest obstacles WWE has faced on the road to Evolution.
