Damian Priest has been pushing through pain to continue delivering strong performances inside the ring.
While Drew McIntyre has openly discussed his dedication to WWE amid ongoing injury concerns, new reports suggest it’s actually his former rival, Damian Priest, who’s been quietly battling through physical setbacks.
The former Judgment Day member has been on a roll lately. Despite a loss to McIntyre at WrestleMania 41, Priest has established himself as a top star on SmackDown. He even got his win back at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Following the match, the Scottish Warrior has been out of action.
According to Fightful Select, McIntyre’s recent absence from WWE programming is not due to injury but rather a scheduled break. However, officials have reportedly been more concerned about Priest, who has been working hurt for quite some time.
Sources indicate that Priest wrestled through multiple matches during his heated rivalry with McIntyre while banged up. The hard-hitting feud featured some brutal showdowns, including their high-stakes Sin City Street Fight at WrestleMania 41 and a Steel Cage clash at a recent Saturday Night’s Main Event.
Despite dealing with lingering injuries, Priest has made it clear he has no intention of stepping away from the ring anytime soon. Insiders say he’s especially motivated to compete at this year’s SummerSlam, which is set to take place near his hometown. The event holds personal significance for him, with Priest reportedly calling it a “home game.”
His commitment has not gone unnoticed. WWE officials and peers have been highly complimentary of Priest’s resilience and work ethic, particularly as the company heads into one of its biggest shows of the year. As a result, the World Heavyweight Champion is expected to have a major role at SummerSlam.
Most recently, Priest took part in the King of the Ring tournament, where he faced off against Cody Rhodes in a first-round bout on SmackDown. Although Rhodes picked up the victory, fans and officials alike are curious about Priest’s next move as SummerSlam approaches.
Despite his physical condition, Damian Priest continues to prove why he’s one of WWE’s top stars — showing up, fighting through the pain, and making every moment count.
